Easter Sunday

Happy Easter - It has been a lovely day. Sun Shining (but very cool!). Had my Cadberry Egg for the year, breakfast at Church, took pictures of all the children in all their Easter Finery - even saw two little girls complete with white gloves and Bonnets. I know we don't go to church to dress up, but we used to have fun, and I am glad some little girls still get to enjoy all that (I sure did enjoy it) We had a good turn out today, saw some people I won't see again until Christmas (I didn't say that did I?). Good sermon I am really enjoying our new Minister. Home to get back in jeans and survey the daffodils, today I have 4 with pink trumpets! They are gorgeous! Yep, took pics of that too. We are having a late dinner, ham steaks, Scalloped potatoes, broccoli, and a nice fruit salad. Hope your Easter Day is as nice as mine, and the Good Lord Bless us every one. Love...

March 21

Good Friday - another busy week - can't see that I have accomplished much, but then on the other hand, the important stuff gets done - and the "busy" work doesn't- I've smelled the flowers and worked at the church. Got some good cleaning done there, in preparation for Easter. Also some one (Worship Committee??) decided we would have a new pictorial directory - and that it would be done on Thursday and Friday sooooooo here we are on Good Friday, cameras every where, sweet little old people (I include myself in this category) trying to find the photographer, and trying to keep a pleasant smile for posterity. Who is keeping the appointment desk? How come the wind is blowing a gale, do you have a comb - why did they change places? are you sure its in the fellowship hall? NO--its in the education bldg. Ah Spring. We did manage to have a meaningful Maundy Thursday Service. (in the fellowship hall (the sanctuary was set up for Pictures) I am thankful we are able to launch this new Directory, and still keep our wits to know that the church is there, a sanctuary even in times of stress. It is only a building, We are the Church (quote from Jim Spiller). I'm not complaining, I am constantly amazed at the things that can be accomplished, when I am sure they won't be. And for anyone who is struggling with insurmountable problems, hang in there - God has a plan!
And at home ..we were entertained by a tiny mouse racing around the living room, bumping into coffee table legs, and disappearing into the fire place if we moved. Laundry got done, wardrobe for picture taking got chosen, and like I said at first, the daffodils are in full tilt, and crocus all over the place, I guess the kids had a good spring break, and onward and upward to a Glorious Easter Sunday. Bless each of you and keep you safe, that's my prayer every morning. Love you.

March 11 - lots of nothing...

Good Tuesday again, where does the time go!!! I am off to church to work this morning, but here's a quick update. Sunday was a beautiful day, no wind, warm, just perfect for a day outside, so .....we finished hauling the cedar trees to the curb, it is all done, don't have to worry about that! took most of the afternoon, but after a couple of hours Mrs. Story's daughter took pity on us (me) and came and helped, and it really went fast. Clay cut them into carryable (thats not a word I don't think) sizes and we took them to the curb. Yesterday, we sorta collapsed in a heap--I did manage to get several dresser drawers cleaned out and re-organized, and a haircut. (I was hunting my "St. Pat's" stuff) So now the Shamrocks are out and Faith and Begorra is the word for the day, and corn beefed sandwiches are the menu. Easter is so early this year, gotta hunt that up next! (along with what on earth am I going to wear!) Oh well,. it will all work out one way or another. I'm off to work -- Hi Ho, Hi Ho, its off to work I go. Have a blessed Day you are in my prayers.

March - Happy St. Pats in advance

I don't think any one reads this, but I'm writing it anyway--its kinda interesting to see who checks !
Today Wednesday the 5th of March - I went to Dr. Office to get a reading of my bone density test that I had done last week. I do have osteoporosis, but it is average for my age and frame. I am reminding my daughters and my grand daughters to be sure they are getting their quota of calcium==in their 20's 40's and 50's. Its very important, and going into your 70's you won't have to worry about bone loss and fractured hips. And maybe not even have to take Fosamax or Bonevia or any of those things. Also be advised that Calcium needs to have at least 400 units of Vitamin D in it to be truly effective. Vitamin D helps in absorption of the calcium. I got a blood test today to make sure I have enough Vitamine D. I'll let you know on that. Did you know that you can get your quota of Vitamin D by 15 minute exposure to the sun light ever day? Course Winter makes that difficult but its a good thought for summer - just don't sun burn your self! Enough Medical lectureing. I'm fine, yesterday I worked at the church, and in afternoon we went over and hauled some more limbs to the curb. A little bit every day (that it is nice weather) we will get it all out yet. MWC has set a deadline of Mar. 16. so must do a little every day. Had a nice little trip to Tulsa last week, visited with some very nice friends. I drove us home....got lost in Sapulpa of all places, but Clay finally figured out where in the heck I was, and got us back on track......I was chagrined that I could get all the way thru Tulsa, and then get lost trying to get on the Turnpike in Sapulpa! Oh well, makes a good story anyway!
My daffodils are up, and about to bloom and today I found the first purple crocus! WOW (they have all been yellow ) Enough of my meanderings - surprise me and tell me you read this!
